Empowering Women, Girls, & Children to Thrive
Gender Equality & Child Protection

We are committed to advancing gender equality and safeguarding the rights and dignity of women, girls, and all children. Our holistic, rights-based approach addresses the root causes of inequality and vulnerability by providing safety, healing, and opportunity in crisis-affected and underserved communities.

Our work challenges harmful norms, strengthens protection systems, and creates pathways for women and children to thrive.

Preventing & Responding to GBV

Gender-based violence is a grave human rights violation rooted in harmful gender norms and power imbalances. Women, girls, and children face heightened risks of violence, exploitation, and abuse.
Our survivor-centred, community-driven response includes:

  • Prevention campaigns that shift harmful norms and reduce stigma
  • Safe spaces offering confidential, trauma-informed care
  • GBV case management and referrals (medical, legal, psychosocial)
  • Capacity building for health workers, teachers, and protection actors
  • Ethical documentation to strengthen accountability and advocacy

Teenage & Young Mothers Empowerment

Adolescent and young mothers face stigma, disrupted education, and economic hardship. We support them to reclaim their futures and build independence through:
Our goal is simple: no young mother is left behind.

  • Psychosocial support and peer mentorship
  • Parenting education and life skills
  • Vocational training and economic empowerment
  • Access to childcare and flexible learning pathways

Widows Empowerment Program

Widows often experience discrimination, isolation, and economic insecurity. Our program supports healing, dignity, and independence through:
Widows are empowered as caregivers, leaders, and agents of change.

  • Vocational training and entrepreneurship
  • Table banking and joint business ventures
  • Financial literacy and business mentorship
  • Legal education on inheritance and land rights
  • Peer support and trauma-informed group therapy

Women’s Economic Empowerment

Economic empowerment is central to gender equality. When women thrive economically, families and communities benefit.
We strengthen women’s economic resilience through:

  • Savings groups, artisan training, and community enterprises
  • Financial literacy, business mentorship, and digital tools
  • Market linkages and access to startup support

Child Protection

Every child has the right to safety, dignity, and opportunity. Our child protection work is gender-sensitive and rooted in community-based systems that prevent and respond to:

  • Violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect
  • Child marriage and harmful practices
  • Discrimination limiting girls’ rights and futures
We strengthen protection through:

  • Training caregivers, teachers, and protection actors
  • Safe spaces, case management, and psychosocial support
  • Parenting without violence and children’s rights education
  • Legal identity support and advocacy for inclusive child protection laws

Gender Equality in Practice

Our gender equality work strengthens protection, dignity, and opportunity across communities.

  • Survivor-centred GBV prevention and response
  • Economic empowerment for women and caregivers
  • Support for adolescent mothers and widows
  • Child protection and safeguarding systems
  • Community-led norm change and advocacy
Our Commitment to Gender Justice
Why Gender Equality Matters

Gender equality is foundational to sustainable development. When women and children are safe, empowered, and heard, communities become healthier, more resilient, and more just.

We work to dismantle harmful systems, uplift women’s leadership, and ensure every child grows up protected, supported, and able to thrive.
