As part of its continued commitment to advancing health rights and universal health coverage, STADA Kenya convened a high-level maternal and child health dialogue at Rabuor Health Center. The engagement reflects STADA’s mission to champion reproductive health for healthier communities by strengthening health systems, empowering women, and improving access to quality care at the grassroots.

The dialogue brought together healthcare workers, mothers, women of reproductive age, community stakeholders, and STADA’s health team for an open and practical discussion on key maternal and reproductive health issues. Conversations focused on antenatal clinic attendance, safe delivery practices, breastfeeding, postnatal care, and the overall health and wellbeing of mothers and children.

This engagement went beyond consultation. It reaffirmed STADA’s strategic approach of addressing health inequalities through community-led solutions. Participants shared lived experiences and frontline challenges, creating space for honest reflection and collaborative problem-solving.

Healthcare workers highlighted persistent barriers such as inconsistent antenatal attendance, cultural misconceptions surrounding breastfeeding, limited access to safe delivery services, and delayed referrals for high-risk pregnancies. Women participants emphasized the need for clearer communication from health providers, respectful and inclusive care, and economic empowerment to support maternal and child wellbeing.

In response, STADA committed to strengthening its maternal and reproductive health interventions through targeted community health education, capacity-building for healthcare providers, and improved referral pathways for complicated pregnancies. The organization also reaffirmed its commitment to embedding gender-responsive and rights-based approaches across all health programs, ensuring women’s voices remain central to service design and delivery.

This dialogue marks an important step in STADA Kenya’s broader effort to scale up maternal and child health outcomes in underserved communities. Through strategic partnerships with health facilities like Rabuor Health Center, STADA continues to translate policy into meaningful, sustainable action that protects the health, dignity, and rights of women and children.
